Whether a kitchen remodel or a mural for your child’s playroom, we work within your budget and timeframe.

Master Suite and Screen Porch Addition
A growing family needed extra space in their 1930 Bungalow. We designed an addition sensitive to the neighborhood and complimentary to the original design that includes a generously sized one car garage, a 350 square foot screen porch and a master suite with walk-in closet and bathroom.

Master Suite Pop-Up
The original walk-up attic in this 1950 home was too low and cramped to be of use as a finished space. We engineered a new roof structure that gave us the needed headroom for a master bedroom, his and hers closets, an en-suite laundry and bathroom. The addition follows the original roofline, and so is virtually undetectable from the street.

Basement Suite
The 1931 built home had a full-height basement, but with many of the original hot water heat pipes hanging low. The boiler was relocated and replaced with a tankless on-demand heat system, allowing for a unobstructed ceiling throughout the space.

Contemporary Kitchen Remodel
The 1950’s kitchen was small and outdated. We removed the partition wall between the dining room and kitchen, dramatically opening up the space and growing the kitchen plan. Upgrades included new maple hardwood floor, new Marvin windows and french doors opening onto the rear patio.

Craftsman Kitchen
We completely remodeled an outdated, poorly designed kitchen that was separated from the rest of the house by a narrow doorway. We opened the wall to the dining room and framed it with an oak archway.

Facade Redesign
We created 3 options to improve the curb appeal of a modest postwar house. Each of the designs place greater emphasis on the front porch, incorporate new landscaping and planting beds to replace a diseased spruce tree that must be removed.

Design MMoCA
The Madison Museum of Contemporary Art invited a handful area Interior Designers and Architects to design a room “vignette” based around an artwork from their permanent collection. We collaborated with Bungalow Pros to design and create a child’s warehouse-loft style bedroom space, centered around Mary Heilmann’s 21st Century Fox aquatint.

Covered Porch Addition
A covered porch was added to unique Craftsman style home to enable a greater enjoyment of a native plant filled backyard. The exposed trusses, sidelights and dormer mimic the lofted design of the original Living Room.

Modern Lower Level Living
This 1950’s ranch had a huge basement footprint that was unused as living space. With the walkout double door and plenty of southern exposure light, it made a perfect guest bedroom, living room, full bathroom, utility and laundry room, and plenty of closet storage, and effectively doubled the square footage of the home.

Whole House Redesign
We collaborated for over 9 months with the homeowners to completely redesign their historic 1900 home. The older part of the house will be gutted and rebuilt, preserving the best historic elements. The entire 2nd floor will become a master suite with private bath retreat.
